Dr. Anne Meade,

CNZM, QSO

Dr Anne Meade graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Trained Teachers Certificate, Bachelor of Arts (Hons, 1st) and a PhD in the Sociology of Education.  She later completed a Massey University Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE).  She has been an academic researcher for most of her career; and is a former Director of the New Zealand Council for Educational Research.

Since 2000, Anne has been a self-employed consultant, specialising in educational research, policy advice and writing with a focus on early childhood education.

Anne was the National Coordinator of the Early Childhood Centres of Innovation in the 2000s. Diverse projects and keynote speeches have kept her excited about early childhood education in New Zealand and overseas.  Anne is a co-founder of Daisies Early Education & Care Centre in Wellington.

As a Fulbright Senior Scholar in the USA in 1999, Anne was introduced to Reggio Emilia inspired pedagogy.  Subsequently, she has been to Italy three times to study in Reggio Emilia.  Anne has been the convener of REID (Reggio Emilia Inspired Dialogues) network in Wellington, an affiliate of REANZ.
