Wendy Larmer

28.12.1947 – 24.12.2020

Wendy was one of the founding members of REANZ Trust and she gave many years of service to this organisation. Wendy was a member of the trust until the end of her life.

Wendy was uniquely special. She was a warm, intelligent, loving, wise friend and colleague. She was the epitome of a New Zealand woman; kind, courageous, strong, empathetic, wise, inclusive and loving. Oh and how she could give you a heart-felt bear hug. Her endearing smile and twinkle in the eye is an image we will all hold dear to us.

Wendy’s love for the wellbeing and education of young children led her into the lives of so many of us here today and through this we have had adventures around Aotearoa New Zealand and the world.

Wendy was everyone’s friend. She made her mark on the world and she leaves it a better place for being in it. There is no better epitaph than that. She made a difference and her spirit will be with us forever. We are better people for having had Wendy in our lives.

Thank you, Stewart, David, Andrew, Craig and Kirsty, for sharing Wendy with us. Wendy lives on in each of you and our love and thoughts are with you and your families.

May the road rise up to meet you Wendy

May the wind forever be behind your back

May the sea glisten like greenstone

And the gods hold you in the palm of their hand.
