Adrienne Thomson

For forty years I have had the privilege of working alongside amazing colleagues in supporting families to raise their young children.  Along the way my family of six wonderful children have grown and now raise their own families.  I find my career direction is changing toward being less hands on with children and more focused on supporting teachers and parents to be the best they can be.  Being with young children is all at once wonderful, joyous and challenging.  Each new encounter with a child calls on us to bring forward our authentic selves in the nourishing of their thinking and wellbeing.  Being authentic with colleagues and parents calls on courage and self-awareness to create cultures of collaboration and learning spaces of curiosity and beauty as well as robust thinking and innovation.

I am excited to accept the invitation to be a Trustee of REANZ.  This organisation has been fundamental to my development as a teacher over the last 20 years at Magic Garden and I am delighted to be able to give back by joining the mahi of the Trust in evolving and presenting Reggio ideas to the next generation of teachers.
