Come and experience how light and shadow can be used as an expressive ‘language’ by children and teachers. The presentation will discuss how ideas from the Reggio Emilia approach can be used to inspire programmes in the New Zealand EC context. The workshop will involve a hand on art component where participants will use Māori mythology as the provocation for their own creative story making and telling.

“The language of Light and Shadow Puppets is presented by Lisa Terrini, senior lecturer at Victoria University of Wellington Faculty of Education, author and editor of ecARTnz online magazine. Lisa is part of REID (Reggio Emilia Inspired Dialogue) a group of Wellington early childhood educators who are influenced by the Reggio Emilia Pedagogy.
